Net Zero Events

Responsible events with positive impacts

Technology that allows you to carry out sustainable events, carbon footprint calculation, reduction plans, compensation management and strategic communication.

  • Responsible Events

Corporate events and conferences are key in uniting individuals around a common purpose. However, it is important to recognise that these events can often have a significant environmental impact, largely stemming from the intensive use of resources, such as high energy consumption, waste production, and transportation demands, all associated with increases in greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs).

From the early stages of planning, we provide you with a set of tools and expertise for you to carry out responsible events.

True Net Zero

To be a truly sustainable organisations you must strive to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. Offsets should be regarded as a final measure in the realisation of a carbon-neutral event. These must encompass scope 3 and should only be pursued when mitigating the remaining carbon emissions that have not been reduced through any other means. Buying offsets without implementing a reduction plan is considered a form of greenwashing.

Services

1.

Verified Carbon Footprint Calculation

We calculate the carbon footprint of your event in accordance with international norms (GHG protocol), encompassing all scopes 1, 2, and 3, along with a detailed report outlining the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions generated during your event. You will receive a Good Practice Guideline outlining objectives and recommendations to diminish your emissions in current and future events.

2.

Smart Net Zero Monitor

Our Smart Net Zero Monitor software is a management platform that provides a 360-degree and real-time view of the environmental impact generated during the event. The integrated blockchain technology ensures the authenticity and reliability of the information related to the event, thereby transparently demonstrating your commitment to global decarbonisation goals.

3.

A platform to measure Scope 3

To accurately measure the impact of your event, we will take into account scope 3 (indirect emissions associated with the supply chain). Our customisable platform allows you to interact with attendees and suppliers to better understand emissions that are not under your direct control, such as transportation types or materials used. By measuring this, you can better understand and manage the entire lifecycle of an event more effectively.

4.

Management of the Compensation

For those emissions that cannot be reduced or eliminated, we provide you with our "Project Bank" platform, where you can make an offset by purchasing carbon credits in projects certified by entities such as VCs, Gold Standard, or the United Nations. These projects also promote the social, ecological, and economic development of the region (Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)).

5.

Verification of the carbon footprint & compensation

In the event that it is required, we will manage the necessary external audit for your certification, this covers both the calculation and the offsetting of your event, with leading ENAC verifiers (Control Union, Aenor, Sgs). We will take care of the entire process, guaranteeing the option that best suits your needs.

6.

Responsible Communication

We provide support in corporate communication, guidance on crafting specialised content, and a range of graphic resources for you to communicate and showcase, to your audience, all your decarbonisation achievements. Additionally, we will provide you with a unique badge that includes a unique QR code (Carbon Neutral Event) traced on chain, ensuring the veracity of your actions.

  • UN General Assembly

On 14th of June (2023) we were invited to showcase our revolutionary 360º environmental management system at UN Global Compact General Assembly and MOVERS event (Spain). This system enabled real-time tracking of the event's carbon footprint, offering unmatched transparency and accuracy. Attendees had access to over 100 real-time environmental indicators, empowering them with vital information.

The event achieved carbon neutrality through a UN-verified offset project and even went a step further by going "positive" in their environmental impact through a collaboration with the Spanish IUCN committee. This milestone reinforced the commitment to climate action and community betterment.

  • 52nd Iberostar Trofeo Princesa Sofia

From March 30th to April 8th, 2023, we participated in the 52nd Trofeo Princesa Sofía regatta ensuring a carbon neutral event. All the emissions data was rigorously collected and recorded on-chain, ensuring precise calculations, certification, and compensation of the events carbon footprint.

Using our solar-electric vessel, "Stenella", we carried out environmental surveys in the Bay of Palma, recording seabed imagery, measuring water temperatures, air quality, and collecting water samples. To foster community engagement and environmental education, we carried out workshops for around 80 children from disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as participating in various beach clean-ups.
